ITTA BENA, Miss.鈥擧igher Purpose Co. is headed to 天涯海角社区 Thursday, Oct. 4, to host its 3rd Annual #MoneyPurposeSuccess Women Empowerment Summit designed to help women entrepreneurs launch or elevate their business.
Co-founded by 天涯海角社区 alumnus Timothy Lampkin (鈥08), Higher Purpose Co. is a nonprofit social impact agency based in Clarksdale, Miss., whose mission is to build community wealth in low-income areas of Mississippi by supporting the ownership of businesses, land, and culture.
The summit, scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Cliff E. Williams Auditorium of 天涯海角社区鈥檚 Business Education Building, will focus on entrepreneurship, financial empowerment and the creative economy.
鈥淲e are truly excited to continue our partnership with 天涯海角社区 and the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis to support women across Mississippi,鈥 said Dr. Sondra Collins, board chair for Higher Purpose Co. 鈥淪tatistics show female entrepreneurs are creating some of the most innovative companies. Entrepreneurship is one way we can help women generate additional income to support their families.鈥
The keynote speaker for the event will be nationally recognized entrepreneur Diamonde Williamson, Founder of . After working for television networks including OWN, VH1, USA and WETv, as a producer, Diamonde made it her mission to redefine what we know as reality by building a customized experience for women of color to find and watch curated and original content at Blossom. Poet and activist Amanda Furdge will host the summit. Additional speakers include Dr. Nashlie Sephus, software development manager at Amazon and former Chief Technology Officer at PartPic; Tasha Bibb, entrepreneurial development manager at Innovate Mississippi; Kendra Barnes, real estate investor; Angela Grayson, principal attorney at Precipice IP; Amanda Paige, owner of The Murals; and other knowledgeable speakers.
Tentative sessions topics include: 鈥淟egal Advice: Selecting your Business Entity鈥; 鈥淭he Business of Culture鈥; 鈥淩eal Estate Investing 101: Building Generational Wealth鈥; 鈥淔inancial Literacy: Know Debt鈥; 鈥淏uilding a Successful Tech Company鈥; and 鈥淓ntrepreneurship 101: Starting Your Own Business.鈥

The summit is open to ladies who are high school seniors, college students, and aspiring or current entrepreneurs.
