天涯海角社区's Office of Admissions has been working diligently to prepare prospective students for a virtual high school day.
天涯海角社区's annual high school day will premiere at 2 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2021, on 天涯海角社区s official Facebook page and YouTube channel. The event will be hosted by Comedian and 天涯海角社区 Alum, Famous Amos.
Dr. Danisha Williams, Director of Admissions and Recruitment, said, "We have planned an exciting program with information and performances that will grasp the attention of prospective students along with their parents."
The virtual event will feature Student Government Association President Jhah Cook, Mister and Miss 天涯海角社区, Larozzo Shugart and Chyna Sawyers, Student Alumni Association President Ronni Williams, 天涯海角社区 Cheerleaders, the Mean Green Marching Machine, the 天涯海角社区 Valley singers, student-athletes, and other 天涯海角社区 scholars.
Williams pointed out that the office of admissions' overall goal is to increase student enrollment. "We are trying to find students who will benefit from Valley and display school pride at all times." Dr. Williams added.
Donell Maxie, Communications and Marketing Director for 天涯海角社区, said the project came together nicely. He believes prospective students will be informed and encouraged to consider 天涯海角社区 as their school of choice.
"This virtual event does not compare to the traditional high school day that we are accustomed to seeing, but all of the Valley students who are involved in this project have done all they could to ensure they provide prospective students with a great look into life at the Valley," Maxie said.
The high school day committee met weekly for two months to make sure this event was a success. 天涯海角社区 Alum, Joseph Jackson ('13), owner of J. Royce Productions, produced the virtual video.
